I've decided that Monday's are, as Charles Barkley would put it, "trrrble"! I don't know why since essentially as a mother all my days are the same. However, somehow Monday's just seem to be worse. So I decided to try and help brighten the day (that is now almost over!) I'd post a few cute pictures and updates.
A few weeks ago in Primary Micah was given his own Book of Mormon and bag to carry it in. I'd never thought about giving him one because, well, he can't read yet...stupid mom mistake I guess because he couldn't have been happier! He carried it around with him constantly for the next few days. You'd have thought he was actually reading it by the way he was staring at the pages. He was so excited to be able to personalize the bag by writing his name and coloring a picture of him and his cousin, Kylie. It was all pretty stinking adorable. When we came home from church that day I found him sitting on the stairs like this looking like a little missionary! I asked him if he wanted to go on a mission when he was 19 and teach people about Jesus. He promptly said, "But I don't know how to do that." I told him it would be ok because he would learn all about it before he went and that Daddy went on a mission too. Then cute little Micah quickly said, "Ok!"
Story Story (Toy Story according to Hailey) is a very regularly watched movie at our house. All 3 of them but mostly the third one as of late. After watching it one afternoon Micah came to me wanting to make "a rocket my toys can play in". I thought that sounded like a Dad job so I told him to wait until Eric got home that night. This just proves how different men and woman think and why kids need dads. In my head I was thinking of some little hand held rocket...Eric on-the-other-hand, built it life sized for Micah and Hailey to play in. It's a good thing I'm crazy about always keeping empty boxes! The kids have had more fun playing with this rocket than just about any other toy they've ever owned. And of course they had to decorate it! It is 100% colored on the inside!
That night I went to check on the kids before I went to bed (the paranoid mother in me). When I walked into Micah's room this is what I found! I had to walk out so I wouldn't wake him up from laughing! I quickly asked Eric about it and he assured me that he had put Micah in his actual bed that night. So Micah took it upon himself to make his own little bed in the rocket ship! Including moving his CD player closer to him so he could listen to music! Oh to be 5!
The finished product!

Hailey, of course, throwing a fit about getting her picture taken...and wearing her leotard as she does several days out of the week no matter how cold it is! She calls it her "reatard" and it's just too hard not to laugh every time she says it. Micah, being a typical boy, pulling some sort of superhero bow and arrow move or something. Heaven forbid we can just sit nicely and smile for a picture! And Eric, also reluctantly getting his picture taken.

There is something about that picture of Micah asleep in his rocket ship that just melts my heart. I don't know... it's like it captures the essence of childhood. Fun update!
Cute kids!!! I can't believe I haven't even seen Olivia yet! I'm such a slacker friend. She sure is adorable!
Aren't red heads so fun!!! I really love that Tilly got red hair too! Everyone comments on it. Tilly also didn't crawl until 8 1/2 months (and even then really until 9 1/2) She had trouble with food in the beginning too!! (Do we have the exact same child?!) ha ha. She loves finger foods though. Have you tried those yet? Or homemade stuff? Tilly had a tough time with texture in the beginning. I'm sure you've tried all of that though! Good luck! She'll catch on soon.
Ok - that picture of Micah on the stairs is probably the cutest thing in the world! I love it. Your kids have grown up so much! Hope you guys are doing great!
