Funny

I "stole" this from one of my friends blogs. It was too funny not to share again and again! It is exactly how I feel! I admit I have not been the most dedicated person to losing what I like to call my "baby weight" (some of it I can actually attribute to being pregnant and some came even once the baby was born from lack of time or energy to eating healthy and exercising). I wish I was one of those women that the weight literally falls off once they give birth but I'm not. I have to rededicated myself every few weeks to exercise and eat better which is why it has taken me over a year to lose most of the "Hailey weight"...I'm still working on the "Micah weight". :(  But last week I ran/jogged on our Wii 5 days during the week. For some of you I'm sure that is nothing but it is HUGE improvement for me!

Quiet time

Micah gave up naps about a year ago...against my great determination to keep them! He went from a 3 hour nap a day to nothing! Needless to say...it was hardest for me to get use to it. The past few months I've instigated "Quiet Time" to regain a bit of sanity. When Hailey goes down for her second nap I make Micah have quiet time and play in his room for a little while. At first he did really well and it was wonderful! But recently, he has been fighting me tooth and nail about it. (Where did the saying come from anyway?) It almost breaks my heart as he pleads his case to watch a movie or something other than quiet time. "No quiet time! I don't want quiet time!" So I tell him he has a choice...#1 a nap or #2 play quietly in his room. Because he dreads a nap even more than quiet time he always chooses the latter. Why? Why do children fight naps and alone time to play and do whatever? I would do anything to be able to take a nap every day! Or have uninterrupted quiet time! I just don't get it. I guess it's true what they say...you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone. You don't appreciate naps and alone time until you no longer have the opportunity to take them!

New Hailey pictures

Here are a few new updated pictures of Hailey. She's growing so fast it's hard to keep up!

Let me out! Let me out! Let me out!
Spring fever is hitting everyone at our house!

Yet another great picture taken by Micah!

Eric's parents gave her this hooded princess towel for Christmas and the hood is a crown! How cute is my little princess straight out of the bath!!??

Eric had the vacuum out and Hailey just took off with it! If only she really did vacuum!

Several weeks ago we noticed that Hailey was folding her arms as soon as we said prayers. We didn't even teach her, she just did it on her own! Good girl!

Micah-isms

My sister Kristi is kind enough to watch my kids while I go to one of my doctors that is right by where she lives. It turns out to be about every 2 weeks or so and she has been incredible and wonderful to help me out so much! Last week while Micah and Hailey were there it turned out to be one of those embarrassing and funny parent moments. Micah kept walking around Kristi's house saying, "This place is a mess! We need to clean it up!" How many 3 year olds do you know do that? I guess I'll just add it to his other OCD behaviors! And for the record...her house was clean!

Thankful

So recently I've decided that I have been too negative in my life...focusing on the things that aren't going as planned, etc. So in an attempt to change my way of thinking I wanted to make a list of a few things I am thankful for! (In no particular order)

1. 2 healthy, happy children!
2. A wonderful husband that puts up with my craziness!
3. Eric's job! (These are not times to be picky about jobs...just grateful to have one!)
4. The gospel and membership in the church
5. Health insurance! (After 4+ years we finally have good health insurance through Eric's job!)
6. Sisters who watch my kids without complaint!
7. When Micah tells me I'm beautiful
8. Cousins for my kids to play with (I never really had a whole lot in the way of cousins, because of distance or just lack of them, so I am extra grateful my kids do! It's so fun to see them play together!)
9. My skinny clothes are starting to fit again! :)
10. Great friends that help me blow off steam!!

Micah prayers

As I'm sure is typical of most toddlers Micah is really in to saying the prayers at dinner. Currently this is the prayer he says every night.

"Bless the food, dear Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, Amen."

Eventually we'll have to talk to him about the order of prayer and other things to include but it's pretty cute for the time being! Even when I do try to get him to say more he says,

"No Mom, AMEN!"

Well, that's that!
