Oh, what's in a name?

So Eric is constantly making fun of me and the way I agonize over naming a child. It is seriously a stressful situation for me. Maybe it's because I have a complete lack of decision making skills! Honestly, I hate making decisions about a place to go for dinner much less life long decisions! What if I make the wrong choice? What if I regret it later? Do you know how hard and expensive it can be to change a babies name? With the current state of my hormones I don't like anything for very long. I am always changing my mind about every little thing so coming up with a name has been...well, less than a fun experience. How come I can't be one of those people who just instantly knows the right name for their child? Eric's sister is also pregnant right now and before they even knew the gender they had a name picked out. Actually, 2 kids ago they had a name picked out! I AM ENVIOUS! Even names I've loved for years have a different effect on me now that I am actually pregnant. They've either become too popular or just don't seem to fit our family. For example, Hannah Hansen. LOVE the name but it just doesn't work with our last name. Is it too much to ask for a lightening bolt or a big neon sign that says, "This is what you should name your child!"? I don't think so. I think that's perfectly reasonable. And since Eric got his way naming Hailey he told me to take the lead on this one. I obviously still want his input but he's not exactly as obsessed with talking about it as I am. I know I still have 18 weeks...but it took us almost the entire 9 months to decide on Micah and Eric had picked Hailey from almost the time the little stick came back positive. And in the end I am still one of those quirky people who won't set anything in stone until I actually see the baby. But is it too much to ask to be pretty sure?

Happy Valentine's Day!...belated

So Valentine's Day has never been that big of deal to me. It's cute and fun but I've never really cared about the whole romantic side. Granted I loved it the year Eric and I were dating but that's different. I figure maybe one day when our kids or older or something we can do something more special but I'm happy if Eric just tells me he loves me and kisses me! Well, for the first time in our marriage he did something completely spontaneous and cute all on his own! Sorry ladies, I have the best husband EVER!

And then there were 5!

I realize I haven't done a whole lot of announcing but this is the fun part anyway...

It's a GIRL!

Yesterday I had my ultrasound and we found out that Baby #3 is a girl! We would have been truly happy with a boy or a girl and only cared if it was a healthy baby...which she is! Everything looks great and she is only measuring a few days behind my due date which is pretty typical of my children. My official due date is July 2 so she could be a June or July baby. For those of you that know my first pregnancy was EXTREMELY miserable as I threw up for the whole 9 months, the second was just miserable with throwing up for 6-7 months and lots of pushing on my diaphragm, but this pregnancy has been so great! Well, great may be extreme unless you are comparing to the first 2. Apparently, third time is the charm for me and she is already my favorite child! :) My biggest complaint is my complete lack of energy but I'm sure Micah and Hailey have a lot to do with that as well. Micah survived watching too many movies when I was pregnant with Hailey so I'm sure they will both still survive watching too many movies now! We have a few names in mind but are still looking as well so I'd love some suggestions if anyone has some! Knowing that this baby is a girl has made things seem so much more real and now and I'm starting to wonder how I will ever handle 3 kids! I will really be outnumbered!!! But I guess I felt that way the first and second time around so I'm sure I'll eventually figure it all out.

Hailey's birthday pictures

In no particular order...pictures from Hailey's birthday. I think Christmas really got her prepared because as soon as she saw her presents she knew just what to do and yelled, "Come on guys!"

The Hobbs family knew just what girls like! Hailey was beyond ecstatic about her new tutu and I'm not even sure she'd ever seen one before. She's worn it almost every day since!

She knew the princesses but the sleeping bag thing didn't really make sense to her. She'll learn! Micah knew what it meant! Sleep overs!

Hailey was so excited to blow out a candle she did it more than once! Why not? How often do we really get the chance?

Good brother knowing to keep her away from fire!

I ran into a few issues creating Dora but it all worked out ok. I'll know better if I ever make her again!

Yes, she is crying about her new bike. She didn't know how to do it but she didn't want help. Life as a 2 year old!
