11 days and counting...

I don't know why I keep track of the days because they really mean nothing. This little one will grace us with her presence when she is good and ready. I was offered an induction date for this Friday, 1 week early, but I declined. I really would just rather go into labor myself unless medically necessary. I've done one of each and I much prefer just doing it when the time is right. Although, being able to plan around it would be nice. I'm really feeling pretty decent considering that I am 9 months pregnant. But maybe I just think that because this first 2 times I did this I was MUCH worse (I won't go into the gory details). Today I am feeling pretty emotional though. No particular reason, just tired, uncomfortable and crying for no good reason! Bless Eric for not only putting up with my complaining but encouraging me to let it out. I am ready to have my body back. I am ready to meet my daughter. I am just plain ready!

I realized the other day we have never really sat down with Micah and told him how this whole thing is going to work. He was too young to understand with Hailey and Hailey definitely doesn't get it right now (she thinks her baby sister is in her tummy). I don't think he will comprehend it fully but he definitely understands more than I realized. Eric's sister had a baby about a month ago and I think it gave Micah the impression that the baby will just suddenly appear. (Wouldn't that be nice?) He started asking several times a day if the baby was here yet so we told him that I will go to the hospital to have the baby and that mommy's tummy won't be big anymore (well, relatively). His reaction was, "but I like your big tummy!" Bless his heart. So now he just asks me several times a day if the baby is coming soon. He even knocked on my belly today and said, "baby it's time to come out." I'm actually kind of amazed at how excited he is. Who knows if it will last when his new little sister is actually here so I'll take what I can get for now. Hailey on the other hand is going to be way too much help, I've discovered. She is obsessed with babies and every time we are with Eric's sister's family she is always wanting to give baby Carter hugs and kisses. I might have to put some locks on doors just so I can make sure she won't get at the baby while I take a shower! I'm glad she has Micah to help entertain and distract her. Ok, maybe I'm not so ready.

What Micah gets out of Primary

Every week I ask Micah what he learned about in Primary. Usually I get the normal 'nothing' or 'dinosaurs' (he was stuck on that one for awhile) answers. Yesterday was different and went something like this...

Me: Micah, what did you learn about in Primary today?
Micah: That Jesus uses the treasures of chocolate.
Me and Eric: (hysterically laughing!)

6th Anniversay

Somehow the past few weeks just kinda flew by and disappeared and I never updated that Eric and I celebrated our 6th Anniversary on May 27th! I feel like it's been much longer but I mean that in a good way! Being 8 months pregnant and having 2 other children to keep us occupied we didn't have any big celebration (best to save those on more significant years!) but we did go on a date...which actually is a big celebration these days because dates are few and far between! I am reminded all the time how lucky I am to have Eric. He is such a patient and understanding husband and is an amazing father. I thought he was pretty great when we were dating but he's turned out to be even better! I'm still wondering why he picked me but I'm grateful he did! Strange to see how far we've come in the past 6 years, some good times, some bad. But I have never questioned or regretted my decision to marry him. We are so different but I think that's part of what makes us so perfect for each other. Here is a picture I found from our wedding day (most of that stuff is still in boxes)...

Wow we look so young! And skinny! Ok, Eric still is (darn him and his good genes) but I'm a little rounder these days but at least I can blame that on pregnancy right now. Oh to be newlyweds again! Nope, never mind. I actually prefer where we are now. Our relationship is better than it's ever been and I know it will just continue to get even better! I love you Eric!
